Okay for a small tent

Used this on a recent camping trip inside a Gazelle T4 tent. The outside temperature was 100F +/- 2F. The unit made the tent comfortable, but one needed to be close to the air outlet to feel the full effect. I would recommend the add on battery because it will drain almost any power unit that does not have a rating of 1500W output or more. Wish they would not show the unit being used in a tent camping environment. It tends to expectations that most likely will not be met. Keep in mind most tents are not insulated. If anything they have large screen openings for air flow to prevent heat build up. Even zipped closed hot outside air will leak in and any cold air will likewise leak out when using the unit.

Had some glitches

I've had this unit hooked up in my 17' trailer for most of a year and with a curtain separating the exterior door /front 5 interior feet the ac did satisfactory as long as it was under 90.
There was an annoying glitch where I'd have to tell the unit to choose external drain every time I turned it on or else it would back up with water and give me a warning, then a firmware update corrected, cool, that seemed to fix that issue

Wave 2 test and review after 1 week

Over the testing period the Wave 2 was successfully able to keep the temperature of the room at a constant 75°F averaging between 3.5 - 6kWh a day depending on the mode selected. The Max setting had the easiest time maintaining the temperature, the Eco setting had the lowest power draw while maintaining a no larger than 3°F difference from the set temperature, and the Sleep setting was very similar to the Eco setting in experience and power draws with the main difference being it was noticeably quieter and consistent in noise level.
*Note* I did not run the Heater for long (because it’s already getting hot here) but from my tests the heater setting didn’t greatly affect the power draw in the various settings by a major degree. Further testing is needed for winter operation. I will also need to test the cooling capabilities on its own and in higher temperature conditions. I will be installing this into my 170 Sprinter and road-tripping with it this summer where I can gauge its performance in less ideal conditions.

Great little heater but A/C only ok

The unit is in our RV. As you can see in the pictures had to wrap venting hoses and connector due to the release of warm air while using A/C or cold air while in heating mode. Also condensation started dripping of vent hoses when heating. The space this unit is in is 8ftWx15ftLx7ftH. A/C unit unable to keep space cool if over 80 degrees even on max! External drain on app is off, I set it up to drain automatically, but it continues to ask if drain hooked up in order to drain? Thermostat control with A/C doesn't shut unit down when at set themp but in heater mode it does work properly? It definitely uses less electricity then roof unit. 4amps on Eco and 6amps on max A/C. I believe it would work better in a smaller area, like tent, car, or truck cab.

Finally an A/C Unit that works in the Georgia summer

I have been using the EcoFlow Wave 2 all summer. I am very pleased with its ability to keep us comfortable on the warm and muggy nights in Georgia. I use it in my Ford E-250 van. I consider it as a personal air conditioning unit as opposed to an area A/C unit. It keeps my 4 dogs and I comfortable by directing cool air directly on us. The Wave 2 uses around 500 watts/ hr when on MAX mode or 3500 watts for a 7 hour sleep period. My power source is EcoFlow Delta 2 with Expansion. This provides 3000 watts. Since I don't have enough power for MAX mode all night, I use various modes. On a 95 deg day I wait for the sun to go down and the temp to drop into the 80's. We are sitting on a bench seat about 3 feet from the air outlet with the air blowing on us. I use MAX mode for about 30 minutes. I then I set MANUAL mode for 73 deg (300 watts) for about 2hrs 30mins. The final setting is ECO mode at 73 deg (180 watts ECO turns off the compressor every 30-40 minutes for about 10-15 minutes). I have power left in the morning. Sometimes if the mornings are cooler, I shut down the Wave 2 at 4am and turn on a fan to circulate the air.

I have had no problems with the unit.

I made one request for EcoFlow. The Wave 2 always started up in Drain Mode that did not use the drain tube. They have update the software to solve this problem. Kudos to EcoFlow support!!
